FAQs

WHAT IF THERE ISN’T A DIAGNOSIS?

No problem. Since we are not submitting your services to insurance, a diagnosis is not required. Some families prefer to wait on a diagnosis, others are on a long waiting list, so this helps overcome all these barriers.

I’M AN ADULT WHO RECEIVED A LATE DIAGNOSIS. CAN YOU HELP?

Yes! You may benefit more from our 1:1 services. We will customize a plan that best suits your needs, your skill set, and how much you are able/willing to participate in your intervention.

We typically assist adults with executive functioning skills, social skills, and tolerating aversive scenarios. We have done work with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy when working with adults who have anxiety disorders.

WHO WILL BENEFIT MOST FROM THIS PROGRAM?

It’s important to note that this will not serve children with highly intensive behaviors that require inpatient hospitalization, have experienced multi-day suspensions, or expulsion from school for intense aggression. We highly recommend seeking services within your area that specialize in working with aggressive clients.

It will serve children who have some minor behaviors such as verbal aggression (swearing, yelling, non-violent threats, etc) minor property destruction (tearing paper, swiping items, breaking pencils, throwing small items), and other disruptive behaviors such as refusing to transition, refusing to work, not turning in assignments, unable to do age-appropriate chores. We also work on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) where children need assistance with making meals, cleaning up, and to aid with desensitization to medical/dental visits.

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

No. We have found insurance to be punishing to deal with and it is not a cost-effective way to do business. We do accept HSA, credit cards, and ACH payments. Not accepting insurance helps keep our membership fees low. The effort from you will be the trade-off.

Insurance tends to isolate ABA services to treat behaviors related to Autism when children with all kinds of diagnoses have behavior challenges.

We will provide a superbill, upon request, to be submitted to your insurance company. This does not guarantee reimbursement. You may be able to apply partial payment to your deductible. This is between you, Human Resources, and the insurance company. We do not get involved in reimbursement discussions or rate negotiations.

HOW LONG DOES THE VIRTUAL TRAINING TAKE?

This depends on your learning style and how long it takes. You cannot fast-forward and you will be tested on the material, so please take as much time as needed to become familiar with the material. We expect you to take between 7-15 days depending on how many modules are assigned.

If you’re like me and prefer experiential learning, get through the course, and we will make sure you get to practice the concepts before using them.

HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE BEHAVIOR CHANGES?

I wish we had an answer for you. Some children adapt very quickly and others will dig in their heels until they access reinforcement a few times. Once they see how to access the fun parts, it goes so much faster!

Often we have to customize the intervention to see the best results. Other times, we have to drop the current plan and come up with a better one that suits all involved. This is always going to be a work in progress.

We depend on your relationship with your child to have the trust and motivation for your child to want to do better. That said, ultimately there will be spurts of learning and downtimes of dealing with things like illness, long breaks, dental and growing pains, and all the stuff in between. Be patient. For many children, we can hand off to schools and homes within a reasonable period.

I Purchased the membership and finished the training. Now what?

Please sign up for the monthly subscription to initiate the programming portion of the membership. Some people will take longer than others to complete the training, so we felt it was best to set the initial and monthly payments separately.

I don’t see my state listed. How can I get services?

Each state has its licensure requirements for BCBAs. Some states don’t require a license at all. Please submit your information and state via our Contact Us page and let us research if licensure is an option. If we get enough inquiries from your state, we will consider becoming licensed in your state.
