Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific and evidence-based approach to understanding and modifying human behavior. It uses principles derived from behavioral psychology to:
Identify and analyze the environmental factors that influence behavior
Develop interventions based on these factors
Implement and monitor these interventions to improve socially significant behaviors
ABA aims to increase adaptive behaviors, such as communication, social skills, and academic performance, while reducing maladaptive behaviors, such as aggression, self-injury, or tantrums. It is commonly used in various settings, including education, healthcare, and research.
